Stand Up Paddle Events – Spring 2015 schedule

Now that is has stopped snowing – and warmed up a bit – it’s time to get out and paddle!

Here is the listing of all the SUP events we have planned for the next month and a half.
There will be lots more events in July and August – so check back here for that info.

May 19, Tuesday – Lesson and board Demo at Telford Lake in Leduc – cost $10.
May 23, Saturday – Leduc Boat Club Open House Day at Telford Lake – cost Free
May 26, Tuesday - Lesson and board Demo at Hermitage Park Lake - cost $10.
June 9, Tuesday – Lesson and board Demo at Telford Lake in Leduc – cost $10.
June 16, Tuesday - Lesson and board Demo at Hermitage Park Lake - cost $10.
June 21, Sunday – Battle of Telford Lake Race – Fun and competitive classes – cost $25.
June 28, Sunday – MEC Paddle Fest at Elk Island Park Lake – Board demos and Easy Rider will be teaching all the SUP Lessons.

SUP Informational Wine & Cheese Night – May 11.

Want to learn about the awesome sport of Stand Up Paddling?
Want to leave the kids at home and have some “grown up” time?
Want to know what is inside a SUP board, or any other technical questions?
Want to know the differences between the 198 SUP boards we have in stock?

Well then Monday, May 11, 2015 at 7:00 PM is the time, and The Easy Rider is the place.

We will be hosting an Information Night – with a brief presentation at the beginning of the night, followed by open questions and answers.
Our key SUP staff and team riders will be in attendance to answer all your questions.

Beverages and light snacks will be served.

28th Annual Easy Rider Snowboard Cup – April 4 & 5, 2015

Burton Snowboards presents the 28th Annual Easy Rider Snowboard Cup.

April 4 & 5, 2015

Panorama, BC

2015 marks the 28th year for the Snowboard Cup.

It is the longest running snowboard contest in Canada and the third longest in North America (only behind the Burton US Open and the Legendary Banked Slalom at Mt. Baker)

It is FUN event designed so the snowboarders of all ages and abilities can take pat and have a great time.
The events are a Banked Slalom (one run through the course each day), a fun “Style Contest” on a jump at the base on Saturday afternoon and a Snowskate event on Friday evening.

The entry fee is the same as it was 28 years ago – $25.00.   This gets you entry into all the events during the weekend, an event T-Shirt, discounted lift tickets and accommodations, and entry into the draw prizes on Sunday afternoon.

Early Registration is now open at the store – Cash only, and you must have a parent sign the waiver if you are under 18.

Schedule of events:

FRIDAY
On Hill Registration – Friday, April 3 – 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Great Hall at Panorama.
Snow Skate Demo (brought to you by Landyachtz) – 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

SATURDAY
Late Registration – Saturday, April 4 – 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM in the Great Hall at Panorama.
Racer Meeting at Top of Course (Loose Moose run) 10:00 AM
First Run of Banked Slalom – 10 :00 AM – All Day Saturday.
Best Style Contest – 5:00 PM at Village base.

SUNDAY
Late Registration – Sunday, April 5 – 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM in the Great Hall at Panorama.
Second Run of Banked Slalom – 9:30 AM – Last run at 2:00 PM
Awards – 2:30 PM on the deck of the Great Hall.

**Note – to be eligible eligible for the draw prizes – you must take both runs in the Banked Slalom.

There are discounted accommodations as well as discounted lift tickets for competitors.
