Food Bank

As many of you know – we here at Easy Rider like to do our part to give back to the local community.
We believe that no one should be hungry – so we try and raise money during the year for the Edmonton Food Bank.
This year – through our SUP demos, in store events and our Drive In Movie night we raised just over $1100.  - – THANK YOU!

I took the money, tripled it to $3300. and went shopping to Costco.
Three big orange carts full later and the van was full.

Thank you to everyone that helped out this year.

Starboard Pierce Touring 12’6″

WOW!   Look at this board . . . . what a thing of beauty.
This is the new for 2012 Starboard Pierce Touring – in the 12’6″ size in the AST Wood construction.
This board is designed as a touring board for flat water – that is not only stable enough for beginners, but is also fast enough to make long paddles enjoyable.

The piercing design of the nose is to allow the board to slice through chop and not only remain stable, but also maintain speed.

For touring there are a total of 8 tie down spots (4 front and 4 rear) – an EVA deck pad in the standing area – and it also has Startouch deck traction from the pad to the tail of the board for grip if you need to take a big step back.

The board will be coming in the AST Wood pictured here, and also in Brushed Carbon.
There is also a 14′ version of the board coming in both constructions as well.

It will be THE board for lake and non white water river paddling.

Stay tuned for the arrival of the first production boards as well as the time line for our delivery early in 2012.

Looks stable and fast - all at the same time.
This is where the "pierce" in Pierce Touring comes from.
The squared off tail adds stability.
Love the nose!
I guess my "15 minutes" starts now?

Winter training.

With the outdoor paddle season rapidly winding down (even for me) – it’s time to start working on some training for next season.

A killer new product is the SUP Ergometer.  This is a new take on the old stationary rowing machine.
It is the closest thing to SUPing on dry land that you can get.
I have one on order – and will be able to bring them into the shop on a special order basis.

Or you can take your training in a slightly different direction!
