Front Page

Made the front page of the Edmonton Journal – Nov. 19.
Was a fun paddle – kinda like dodge ball mixed with bumper cars – only much colder.
Actually it wasn’t that cold.  Minus 18 C air temp with a bit of wind chill.
I had on a Quiksilver Cypher electric heated vest, a thermal rash guard and the new Quiksilver Paddle jacket on the top.
On the bottom some thermal shorts with some cold weather cycling pants over top.
For my feet (the most important part) I had Quiksilver Cypher 7mm booties.
Was out for about 45 minutes – and only the tips of my fingers got cold.

Go Pro shot - walking out.
Breaking through.

Wave Pool Session

Sunday mornings are meant for relaxing.  In our case that relaxing means SUP surfing in the wave pool of West Edmonton Mall.
We had a great 90 minute session for invited board owners and then a 90 minute open, flat water demo.
The Surf session was a small group of 10,  so many waves were had by all.
The Flat Water demo attracted 27 newbies and raised $135. for the Edmonton Food Bank (the $5. per person fee is all being donated at the end of the year).

Thanks to all that came out and  ”relaxed” with us.
It was a great success and we are hoping to do these half surf / half flat water demo sessions every month – all  winter long.

Starboard AST White

Starboard has a new color way of their AST – Tuff Skin construction for 2011.
The AST White still features the same internal construction as the other AST / Tuff Skin constructions, but with less graphics.
The main reason for this color way is to have a lower priced option – while still maintaing the fantastic Starboard quality.

Similar to the AST – Tuff Skin Blue from 2010, the board features the Starboard Startouch traction on the deck.
Startouch is an amazing invention from Starboard in that it is a relatively smooth surface when dry, but offers more than enough grip when wet.
Another bonus of Startouch, is that if you decide that you want an EVA deck pad for cushioning – it can be applied right over top of the Startouch.

The AST White is available in the following models:
10’0″ x 34″ Whopper
10’5″ x 30″ Drive
11’2″ x 30″ Blend
12’0″ x 32″ Big Easy
And just added are both widths of the 12’6″ RACE board.

Easy Rider has the Whopper, Blend and Big Easy already in stock and available for sale.
Be the first on your  lake to get one.

Here are a few shots of the 11’2″ Blend.
(The lighting in the warehouse isn’t the best – the board IS White)
